This week I’ll be sharing a few Facebook business page tips to make sure you start 2016 on the right foot.

#1. Post more videos

6 Facebook Business Page Tips For 2016

With videos, you can create a powerful connection with your fans effectively taking your business to another level.

Videos are the most engaging content you’ll find online, there’s no doubt you can go viral with a video that people will enjoy sharing. Facebook has become a giant multimedia platform and if you want your Facebook marketing to have that boom, you definitely want to start putting out some videos.

If you haven’t made a video before, you might have some fears, but as you continue to make more videos, it will get easier. The easier it becomes, the more you’re able to inject your personality in it and the more you’re being yourself, the more fun you’ll have. If you ask me video marketing is a win win.

You do want to make sure your videos are entertaining, educational and has a call-to-action.Also ensure that you’re incorporating other forms of content in your Facebook marketing, remember too much of a good thing can also hurt your marketing.

#2. Pin important posts to the top of your page

With this feature, you can “pin” a post to the top of your page. This will effectively ensure that visitors see that particular post. This is a very useful feature if you’re promoting a post aimed at generating leads or to inform fans about a new product or event. Keep in mind you can only pin one post at a time so you do want to make sure that this post has a strategic purpose behind it.

To pin a post, first you click on the drop down arrow in the top right corner of that particular post and select “pin to top”. You will then see the post pinned at the top of your page with a little orange bookmark.

#3. Maintain a healthy balance of promotional and non-promotional content

One mistake many Facebook marketers make is posting too many promotional posts and not enough posts that is aimed simply to generate engagement.Yes, Facebook is definitely where you can get a lot of quality leads but that doesn’t mean that all your posts should be aimed at this. If you want to succeed with Facebook marketing, you want to be a member first and marketer second. That means posting more posts that are meant to simply generate engagement. Facebook is a social platform and if you really want to maximize your potential with Facebook marketing, you want to be providing content your followers can simply have fun with.

When you have more people engaging in your posts, the greater your organic reach will be. Facebook will now start showing your posts more people who might be interested in your page and you can then publish more posts aimed at capturing leads.

It’s very important you maintain a healthy balance of promotional and non-promotional content. I recommend creating a 40:40:20 content strategy. Here you’re posting 40% promotional content, 40% content for engagement and 20% content that’s for testing purposes.

#4. Add a call-to-action button to your cover photo

This is another feature that you should be using strategically. Ideally, you want your visitors to take some sort of action while they’re on your page so it’s critical you add a call to action button to your cover photo, somewhere they’ll definitely see it. You can even let your creative side loose and integrate it with your cover photo. This is a great idea especially if your cover photo is promoting an offer.

If you aren’t doing this, what you waiting for? Measuring  the effectiveness of your efforts is a key step if you want Facebook success.Facebook provides you with  a variety of tools you can use to measure your Facebook marketing efforts. You can use the Ads Manager to measure the results of your ads and the Insights tool to measure the results of your posts.

#6. Amplify what’s working with Facebook ads

What’s even more important than measuring and keeping track of what’s working is amplifying what’s working. Facebook ads will get you the best targeted traffic you can buy with your advertising dollars and even if you have a small budget, you can reach the right audience with your message.

If you’re getting a lot of engagement (likes, comments, shares), it’s only wise to invest an affordable budget towards amplifying your reach. With Facebook ads you can reach more people who are likely to be interested that posts which’ll get you more engagement. Remember the more engagement your having, the more viral your content becomes and the more people will see your posts.

If you’re not unfamiliar with how to create effective Facebook ads, I recommend you get training and start experimenting. The key to getting the best results is to test consistently, especially with Facebook ads so you definitely want to be experimenting as you’re learning.

The potential for what you can achieve with effective Facebook marketing is exponential. With Facebook you can reach the audience who’ll be most likely interested in what you have to offer, however be sure to keep in mind that you want to be generating as much engagement as possible. Not just to get more leads and sales, but to actually create a relationship with your supporters.
